Mardak was named after his father, and his father before him. As a lad, he admired dwarves for their strength and toughness and trained to be as tough as they. Raised to be a guard from a young age, he would get beat up by older kids growing up for being such a rigid and by the book individual. When his father passed away, he left a bit of himself at his father’s grave site. He loosened his “by the book” views, releasing some of his stress. Afterwards, he had a much easier time getting along with people. He was fully dedicated to anything and everything he did. He learned to read, write, and speak dwarven, the one true language, to learn what he could from their texts. He trained in the sword only because his family had handed down this weapon for generations. He soon became a patrolman, and was good at what he did. He Upholds the Laws and Justice to this day as a soldier of the Order. Currently, Mardak has sworn loyalty til death to serve Sir Laurence Van Drake. After sacrificing himself to save his friends within the bowls of a volcano from the possessed spirit of said volcano, Draconius returned Mardak to life. However, his sword having been destroyed, Mardak lost all knowledge of who he once was, because his sword held a piece of his soul within. Following the suggestion of the Achbishop, the group traveled to the city of Dragons, where Mardak’s greatsword was reforged using a legendary hammer, making his soul re-intact. Mardak regained his knowledge and his power, and the Legendary Sword of his family was returned to his possession, reforged and more powerful.
